In December, the committees of the two bodies corporate – Macleay and our sister building, Stradbroke – met together to streamline our response in the event of a disaster, such as the big floods that put a metre of water in the joint carpark.
The purpose of the meeting was to bring it up to date as part of an annual review.
There’ll be two people in charge of our emergency response — Stradbroke Tower and Villas Committee Chairman Tony Drake and, from Macleay, Michael Morrison.
Michael has 22 years’ international experience in disaster management. He now lives in Macleay. Biography link: Michael Morrison Aug 2013
The joint emergency response plan is a detailed list of procedures and people… what is to be done, what decisions are to be taken and by whom, who is to be advised, what people and organisations put on standby and communications with residents.
There are many factors to be considered and the plan leaves nothing to chance, so that responses will be timely and thorough.
