Congratulations to our 2022 Australia Day Honours recipient

On behalf of the Body Corporate, the Committee would like to congratulate Macleay resident Di Cant for her award of the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) at the Australia Day 2022 Honours presented by the Governor General, for service to the fashion industry and to the community.

For over 40 years, Di Cant has been a leading figure in the Australian fashion industry.  From modelling sportswear in the ’60s to hosting fashion parades at major shopping centres in the ’80s to presenting footwear trends on TV in the ’90s.  In addition, she works for a number of charities, helping raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for cancer research and various children’s causes.

Di joins a number of other distinguished residents of Macleay who have received The Order of Australia awards (recognising Australians who have demonstrated outstanding service or exceptional achievement) in past years including:

Officer of the Order of Australia (AO)

Mr Robert Bowen AO 2017

For distinguished service to community health in Queensland, particularly through not-for-profit research organisations, to medical biotechnology manufacturing and export, and to fostering innovation.

Member of the Order of Australia (AM)

Professor Daryl R Wall AM 2006

Daryl received an Order of Australia for his for service in the field of transplant surgery, to specialist training and support for transplant recipients to resume normal lifestyles.
